The MJAA is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization since 1945. All gifts are tax deductible according to IRS regulations. The MJAA is also recognized by the IRS as a 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(i) organization. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the MJAA or for the MJAA’s use are deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes, provided the donor meets the applicable provisions of sections 2055, 2106, and 2522 of the IRS Code. The MJAA is governed by an elected Board of Executives.
